Code RED

Code red or Acronym red as passed across by W.H.O

These body(W.H.O) define health or being healthy as the total well-being of an individual be it physically, mentally, socially and otherwise and not necessarily in the absence of disease or infirmity.

R stand for Rest

Rest by definition is a conscious effort put towards relaxing the body. It constitute about 10percent of the total wellness being of an individual. The best form of rest is sleep and we are advice to rest one hour in the day and seven hours at night.

E stand for Exercise

Exercise by definition is a conscious effort that involves the movement of the body part to gain generally body fitness and wellness. It also constitute about 10percent of the well being of an individual. We have various forms of exercise like sit-up, push-up, jogging, fastwalk e.t.c

D stand for Diet

Diet is the intake of substance into the body be it solid as in food, liquid as in water or fluid, and gaseous as in the air we breath.
From it spelling 'diet', if we remove the letter 't' which comes at the end of the word diet, we are left with 'die', which simply depict that we either eat to live or eat to die.
According to W.H.O, there is a food pyramid or say food sequence in which we ought to follow and it is stated below.

Carbohydrate or Fat: 5percent
Examples are rice, bread, cassava, animal fat e.t.c

Protein: 15percent
We have plant protein and animal protein
Examples are beans, nuts, meat, fish e.t.c

Fruit and Vegetable: 30percent

Whole grains: 50percent
Examples are Rice bran, Wheat, Soybeans e.t.c

But in the real sense, reverse is the case. We take more of those food content the body cells do not need, and as we know cell is the unit of life. The body needs food but the cell feeds on nutrients in their right proportion, and as a result of not keeping to these simple routine, it has rather endangered our life.

These leads us to our next discussion 'Chronic Diseases'.
